A wholy re-imagined league

Welcome to Paddles & Pines, a women’s summer draft league set against the natural background of The Courts at Duntroon Highlands. This league brings together players of all skill levels who love pickleball, value fair competition, and appreciate positive energy both on and off the court.
Our goal is simple: play hard, rally often, respect the game, and enjoy the experience. Thank you for being part of a league built on confidence, camaraderie, and a shared love of pickleball. Let’s rally strong and make it a summer to remember.

Tournament Format

SCORING
Teams earn 1 point per game win
Points accumulate over all four weeks

Winning team receives $200 cash per player
CAPTAIN SELECTION
Members may volunteer to serve as Captains.
Final captain selection at discretion of Organizing Committee.

This snake draft pattern continues until all 40 players are drafted

Game Play & Timing
Games are 15 minutes in length
A whistle signals the start and end of each round
There is a 5-minute break between rounds
Scoring & Championship
1 point is awarded for each game win
The team with the highest total points after four weeks will be crowned Paddles & Pines Champions and $200 cash prize per player.

Punctuality
Players must be present and ready at their scheduled time.
Late arrivals may only play for the remaining time in the round.
No time extensions will be granted for late arrivals, as this impacts both teams on court.

Substitutions
No substitutions are permitted for any reason.
Illness & Short Roster Rule
Teams must play using the players present on their roster.
A player may not partner with the same teammate more than once, except in short-roster situations.
Fair Rotation Guidelines:
Extra games must be rotated fairly.
Example:
A player may play 3 games if required.
A player may not play 4 games if another teammate has only played 2 games.
This may result in players partnering together again, strictly to maintain fair play.

Player Tracking & Captain Responsibilities
Captains are responsible for:
Tracking player participation each round
Ensuring fair rotation when extra games are required
Recording WIN or LOSS after each game
Completing the Official Match & Score Tracking Sheet
Submitting completed score sheets to league organizers at the end of the day
Captains are also expected to:
Promote sportsmanship and fair play
Make strategic pairings based on player skill and style
Recognize that this league rewards thoughtful, strategic matchups

Home & Away Advantage Schedule
Home advantage rotates weekly as follows:
Week 1: Teams A & C
Week 2: Teams B & D
Week 3: Teams C & A
Week 4: Teams D & B

Lineup Submission Process
1. Home Team Submission (24 Hours Prior)
The Home Team must submit their official lineup to the Away Team no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time. This submission must include:
Player pairings for each round
Round order (Rounds 1–10)
Two players may partner together only once, except as outlined under the Short Roster Rule
Once submitted, the Home Team lineup cannot be changed.
2. Away Team Submission (15 Minutes Prior)
The Away Team must submit their official lineup to the Home Team 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
3. Lineup Lock
At 9:00 a.m., all lineups are locked:
No substitutions
No reordering of players
No matchup changes
Exceptions will only be considered in cases of injury or emergency and must be approved by league organizers.
Sportsmanship & League Integrity
All players are expected to demonstrate respect, cooperation, and good sportsmanship.
Rules will be applied consistently across all teams.
League organizers reserve the right to interpret and enforce rules in the spirit of fairness and league integrity.
